Civil War Round Table

On Saturday, April 14, 2012 a Civil War Symposium will be held at West Virginia University’s Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown, WV.  Besides four great presentations the symposium will also feature exhibits of Civil War memorabilia, vendors of books relating to the period, and Civil War living history.  There will be unique West Virginia Civil War artifacts that have never or rarely been on display.  The symposium is open to all for a fee of $25, which includes lunch as well as morning coffee and snacks.  Attached is the brochure for the event.  The following is the schedule.   

8:30-9:00 Registration 

9:00-9:10 Welcome 

9:10-10:00 Redmond Burke, Stuart’s Top Scout – Steve French 

1000-10:50 The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal in the Civil War – Tim Snyder

10:50-11:10  Break (Opportunity to visit exhibits) 

11:10-12:00 The Underground Rail Road in West Virginia – Dr. William Switala

12:00-1:00 Lunch (Opportunity to visit exhibits) 

1:00-1:50 West Virginia and Lee’s First Invasion of the North – Dr. Bradley M. Gottfried 

1:50-2:30 Exhibits and book sales available
