2013 Grant Program Suspended

On March 20, 2013, the Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission decided to suspend the 2013 grant program.  The program received so many great proposals in the first two cycles that all funding has been exhausted.  The program believes the grant program has been extraordinarily  successful.  Since its inception, the grant program has provided over $200,000 to local groups around the state who have planned events to both commemorate West Virginia's involvement in the Civil War and to celebration West Virginia's sesquicentennial birthday.  The Commission regrets having to suspend the program but is honored to have been a part of some many terrific events over the last three years.

If the Commission is able to reopen the grant program, notice will be posted on this website.
