  • Let's Celebrate West Virginia

    On the 18th, Wood County children 6 to 12 will tour the log cabin, play games popular in the 1860's, learn dances from the time period, listen to stories of famous West Virginians by people dressed in period costumes, have lunch. 
    The 19th will include art displays at various downtown locations, lst grade students' colorings of WV symbols will be showcased in store front windows, sidewalk drawings, a CD of Wood County shown and community singing.
    On the 20th, a party in the City Park.  Birthday cake, balloons, recognition of student essay winners, Golden Horseshoe winners, and end the evening with a concert by 3 performers from Nashville (one is from area).
    On the 21st and 22nd Civil War enactments will be held at Fort Boreman.  Music at the Point on the evening of the 21st.
